Job Description
Burns & McDonnell India has exciting opportunity for Mechanical Engineer interested in growing their
careers in one of the fast-paced company involved in high tech building design and construction. We are
multi-discipline team that provides engineering services for facilities projects in the North America
region which includes facilities including hyperscale data centers, food & consumer product,
pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, airports, and institutional facilities.
We are looking for an experienced and energetic Mechanical engineer to join our growing Global Facilities
team in Mumbai office to lead and support HVAC, Plumbing and Piping design activities on projects mainly
in North America region. The successful candidate will report to the mechanical department manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for design and specification of mechanical systems like HVAC, plumbing,
hydronic systems (hot water, steam, and chilled water) for industrial facilities to provide for
a useful and safe workplace.
o Capture client requirements and if needed, advise them regarding mechanical
systems/requirements available to meet their needs and comply with safety codes.
o Review contractor shop drawings, field inspections, and testing and commissioning reports.
o Coordinate with other disciplines, client(s) and other stake holder(s) to develop a clash free
system design.
o Responsible to manage the assigned scope within agreed schedule and budget.
o Manage a team of designers working on a project.
o Willing to advance in career by taking increased responsibilities on projects and
organization.
Tools:
o Trane TRACE or any other load calculation program.
o Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD
o Navisworks, AutoCAD, BlueBeam
o Knowledge of AutoPipe, Autocad plant 3D will be an added advantage.
o Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Outlook, OneNote
Qualifications
o Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, from a recognized institution.
o Minimum 3 to 5 years of working experience in MEP design for industrial facilities.
o Hands on experience on projects in North America region will be a plus.
o Working knowledge of international codes and standards (ASHRAE, ASME, International
Mechanical code, International Building code, International Plumbing Code, International
Fire Code, NFPA, etc.) applicable for industrial facilities like Food and Consumer Industry,
Manufacturing, and Commercial projects.
o A committed team player able to work on own initiative.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Good communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce accurate
work.
