We have an opportunity for a Design Engineer for Key Accounts to lead the innovation, development, and design for material handling and conveyance products for our key customers. This Design Engineer is responsible for product development and design with a strong emphasis on design for manufacturability and innovation. The successful candidate will be part of a team that designs, tests and reviews new material handling, conveyance and sortation products to the Retail, Logistics and E-Commerce segments. The Design Engineer will participate in continuous improvement of products and processes as well as activities focused on our business priorities of safety, quality, and delivery (timeliness). The candidate will also spend ample time in the field and be customer facing in order build an enduring value to our key clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Drive all designs, drawings, testing, and aid in the presentation of new products to stakeholders.
· Be a key central figure to our enterprise customer in Seattle area, spending time onsite with our customer engineering team, designing and testing products; becoming a source of value.
· Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs, which can be produced with existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
· Provides technical information concerning design, manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range manufacturing planning.
· Determine and select proper materials, coatings, tolerances and dimensioning requirements for design and manufacturing processes of product.
· Has understanding and knowledge in the use of Quality Assurance inspection equipment and reading of data and reports.
· Collaborates with Sales, marketing, and research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops appropriate design.
· Performs preparation of product design layouts and detailed drawing specifications. Performs CAD and Auto Desk Inventor activities and will ensure drawing specifications.
· Compiles and analyzes design, testing, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified products.
· Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications
· Recommends improvements to ensure most efficient and cost-effective handling and packaging procedures.
· EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Mechanical Engineering Technology Bachelor of Science (METBS) is preferred.
· Proficiency in Auto Deck Inventor.
· Experience with material handling processes, considering innovations in material and methods.
· Experience in Product Life Cycle Management System, Proficiency in MS Office suite with emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel.
· SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of Quality Management Systems ISO9001, problem solving, continuous improvement preferred.
· Excellent communication and report writing skills, attention to detail
· Ability to work in a challenging environment, adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines, multi- task effectively and work well under pressure.
· Willing and able to travel 40% of time.
